In reading the CNN report, Cisterns save rainwater, quench environmental thirst, I couldn’t help but think back to the early stages of developing a plan for the Green RV to harvest its own rainwater. I needed to design a cistern for a camper.

Obviously important for human, pet and crop hydration, drinkable water is as scarce a resource as any, and as such, should be a concern for us all, not just in particular regions of the country or certain times of the year.

Northern India’s Groundwater isn’t the only water supply “going, going, going…”

Don’t wait for a drought, a boil order or another natural disaster to finally realize just how much we take water for granted.

Yesterday, Buried Logic posted “White House issues eye-opening, sobering climate change report” and the response was, and is, equally spirited. (Please feel free to add your opinion to the debate.)

The dispute over Natural or manmade causes to global warming/climate change seems to gather and focus most people’s attention. Is the planet or are its people responsible? Ultimately, I’m not sure it matters. What does matter, as I see it, is how you plan to deal with it personally, proactively now and in the future.

Try as we may, we can’t escape the effects of violent, impromptu weather, or the ramifications of rising sea levels, diminished fresh water supplies, flash flooding, prolonged drought, excessive heat variations and insect borne infestations and illnesses.

I would suggest that we let the experts argue the “Who to blame” game while we focus on the “How to” ride out what could be the perfect storm.
