Extremely Dangerous Hurricane Bill stronger than Katrina

Published on August 19th, 2009

Bad news: Hurricane Bill strengthens to a Category 4 Storm with sustained winds of 135 mph. When Katrina struck on the morning of Monday, August 29 in southeast Louisiana, she was a Category 3 storm.

Good news: most models suggest that Bill will eventually head north and miss the US Coastline. That said, meteorologists caution that “extremely dangerous” Bill could be very unpredictable.

Whenever I hear of Atlantic hurricanes of this size and power, I always think back to Katrina.
