Pakistani Taliban leader Baitullah Mehsud, suspected in the assassination of former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, has likely been killed in a U.S. drone attack, according to a top Pakistani official.
All good news; he absolutely needed to be Returned 2 Vendor.
Earlier last month, Congress and the Media were all worked up about a possible “CIA assassination squad” being trained to hunt down and kill al Qaeda, Taliban and other terrorist group leaders.
So why the fury over the “assassination squads” in the first place? Come on, be honest.
If we use drones to take out Taliban, if we use missiles attacks on al Qaeda, our opposition to assassination is what, specifically?
It may not be popular, or politically correct, to use the terms “war on terror” or “enemy combatants” or even “radical fundamentalists.” Problem is, that prohibition goes only one way. Our enemies, are in fact that, our enemies. They do not care about the words we use to describe them, for they are too focused and concerned with their jihad against us. Unfortunate, but true.
The U.S. Military and the Central Intelligence Agency must continue to destroy the threat against us with all means possible. Killing the enemy is what we pay them to do.
Military drones or an assassin’s dagger? Just get the job done.
