Answer To Federal Encroachment: Just Say No

Published on August 10th, 2010

Admittedly, I wasn’t the biggest fan of the “Just Say No” anti-drug campaign. Today, still not a supporter of the past crusade, but I’ve decided that the Nancy Reagan slogan fits nicely when it comes to States standing up to the unwanted advances of the federal government. The Constitution was designed to act as a check to federal government overreach, not a blank check to enhance executive and legislative powers at will. A growing number of Governors, States Attorneys General and their citizens are beginning to wake up to this fact and challenge the stretch and grab of the federal government. For the rest of us regular folks we simply need to start saying “NO,” to build public momentum for reclaiming and exercising our Constitutionally protected rights.

We literally need to exercise our rights. Not unlike muscles that grow when we use them and atrophy when we don’t, employing your rights strengthens and builds them. Of late, we have become a country of Constitutional Couch Potatoes. If we continue to cede our rights and sit around doing little to protect our only true entitlement, we will surely lose them.

Just Say No to the politicians, bureaucrats, and  face plates that encourage us to put all of our faith in the feds.

Just Say No to federal laws and statutes that usurp the Constitutionally protected powers of the States.

Just Say No to anyone attempting to strip you of your right to privacy.

Just Say No to any endeavor that opposes the Bill of Rights.

Just Say No to any effort to encapsulate your liberty.
